edges

I have wondered if it is possible to have a different edge angle on each side of the ski..as it is the downhill ski that we are sking on... so if we had "left" and "right" skis and (for example) had 1 degree on one edge and 3 degrees on the other you could swop them over according to conditions?? bad idea? or mad idea?

re: edges

Both a bad and mad idea i'm afraid.

You can certainly alter the angle of your ski edges but to have them at different angles to each other is just absurd.

Take a look on any ski maintenance website and you will see why.

re: edges

yes but you used to be able to get skis with a different radius on each side..after all you are always on your downhill ski uphill edge
the uphill ski is just trundling you can pick it up if you want

re: edges

Some people use a very downhill ski biased technique. (Particularly when racing) They either tune the inside and outside edges differently, or switch their left and right skis over after warm up runs, so as to have less worn inside edges for the race.
