When do the lifts open? Is this dependent upon when there is enough snow or are there set dates?

the lifts will coincide with the arrival of the first charter flights. in general (although not certain) they open the week or 10 days before Christmas.

re: edinburgh going to bansko

There may be snow on the Todorka peak, get a taxi up as far as you can and enjoy the walk... it will be worth it for the clear peaks and Eve-like virgin snow, but don't expect the piste to have been bashed!

(There is still some snow on the peaks now!)
