end of season

Can anyone recommend skiing in the last week of the season? March 29th - April 4th! Or is it best not to chance it?

Bansko is usually open until the middle of April

This season, I wouldn't risk it. There isn't a big enough snow base to handle the degradation from the increasing temperatures. Especially somewhere as sunny as Pamporovo.

Certainly think you are taking a big risk with Pamps - what about Borovets ? Still risky to be honest but you stand more of a chance there...

I went to Borovets in January and our ski instructer said the best snow was at the end of the season.

Yes Trish, March is a good month, mainly because there are less people there - all the locals say it's by far the best time to go - there is a risk in going late in March although this season has come late so it could mean brilliant news for those going out then......... Very Happy

I'm not sure that because a season starts late it should necessarily end later.

Quite true Mat. Karen Pamporovo is nor,ally closed by the end of March, you need to look at Borovets or Bansko and even then at that time I would leave it a little longer before booking.

Just going by what someone said the locals were saying but quite agree - end of March is risky.
