It's always total chaos but get there early and you get the best choice of equipment. you have to be a bit tough and pushy or you will get stuck with crap.
Sounds like the 15th is going to be a good week.
crazy lady and her gang of about 15 from back home are gonna be there and a few others I've chatted to on her. Don't ask me names I'm not good with them. See I'm the new girl here and don't know you all yet. Lets find out.
Skis are OK (unless you are some kind of professional) and the poles are generally bent!
Boots can be a problem. I took my own as they are the one thing that must be right or it can ruin your holiday. I bought mine here but you can get a pair over there for about £80. Failing that make sure you spend some time on your first day getting the right pair. If they hurt then take them back. They are really helpful if they are hurting you ...
We've just come back and the kit is not that bad.

Also, we found that the best equipment was from the Rila Ski Hire shops at the base of web cam shot (outside the Rila Hotel). The hire shop at the Gondola appeared to have poorer stuff.
On;y said that we actually wanted a pair of skis (or boots for some). We did not actually give shoe size or ski size. You get a voucher for Borosport when you get there. They are the company that run the hire shops, lifts and ski schools.
I got back on the 2nd and have to say that equipment hire was crap!
Took an hour to get boots and skis from gondola station on first day. Tried on 3 different sized boots but they seemed all the same size!!! Ended up with OK skis but went and bought own Rossignol boots for 70 quid on 2nd day (they were bliss!!) Also a friend got wrong skis one day so they had to be adjusted for his boots again!
Buy your own boots out there - I saved 90 pounds!!!
