equipment storage

This may be a trivial question but we are going to Borovets on the 20th for our first skiing holiday after learning here.
We are staying in the Lion hotel and plan on walking sometimes to the slopes and back (we have own ski boots so will be carrying them there). Is there facilities at the equipment place to leave shoes/boots that you walk there in e.g. lockers etc or does everyone just walk about in Ski boots too and from the hotels to the slopes?
What is the etiquette?

re: equipment storage

A lot of the hotels have a ski storage room downstairs where you can keep your equipment.

re: equipment storage

Thanks for that.

Since our hotel is about 15 min walk from the slopes would you recommend walking there in normal boots and carrying ski boots and then just putting them in a back pack and carrying them for the rest of the day?

re: equipment storage

In Bansko at the bottom of the gondola station they have a shoe storage facility where you can keep your shoes while you are skiing and then change into your shoes at the end of your days skiing. I would suggest taking your ski boots back to your hotel room at the end of each days skiing.

I'm sure Borovets has a similar set up.

Hi vicky also staying at the lion in borovets - there's a shuttle every 10mins to the top - so u can wear ur ski boots and leave the others at the hotel - they have a ski wardrobe too

re: equipment storage

Hi i would use normal shoes/boots to walk from your hotel and put your ski boots on when you pick up your skis, i have all my own equipment and store this at the depot whilst on holiday and walk in trainers/boots to the depot, as it is closer to the slopes. Take your boots back each night so you can dry them out fully in your room.
During the day leave your trainers in your boot bag in the depot, generally they will leave it where the skis are normally stored
Hope this helps

re: equipment storage

You will probably find that it's possible to leave your boots wherever you hire your skiis. that way you can just wear your snow boots to and from the hire shop in the morning and evening.
