You can take and exchange Euros, but you would be wise not to as the lev has a fixed rate against the Euro and the exchange value is low compared to Sterling.
Pete--I would suggest if you have Euro's as part of your normal currency (such as Rep Ireland, and mainland Europe) you are far, far better to take Euro's. The rate, as you quite rightly point out, is fixed at 1.95 Lev to the Euro. Sterling is not fixed, and at the moment the pound is very weak against the Euro so you are far better off with Euro's---but only if you already have them. Do not change GBP to Euro and then on to Leva.
