Focus on endurance and your quads. If you go to the gym use a stepper or anything that works your quads. If you are running try to run up hills as much as possible. A good one is to put you back against a wall with you knees bent to 90degrees. Hold this stand up and repeat.
I build the top of my legs up by squatting slightly, so my legs are bent, then hold that position for as long as possible. When it starts to burn, it's working. It made a real difference to my enjoyment of the holiday. The downside is, you've got to do it somewhere private, cause it looks bloody stupid!
Give it a try, I can hold that position for half an hour at least now.
Good god..... Training..... Endurance..... It's not an Olympic bid, it's a holiday.
Just stretch out for 5-10 mins before you hit the slopes..... and then stretch out for 5mins afterwards........ Then go to the bar and drink your own bodyweight in beer before stretching out on your hotel bed...... or roadside ditch, whichever you hit first
Go down to the pub - order a drink of whatever takes your fancy, then, practice stretching your right hand around the glass, lifting it up from the bar, to your mouth, drink some, then back to the table and repeat.
Depends how serious you are. if you are going on a skiing holliday or a just a holliday with some skiing. If your serious do whatever you can, if not just go to the pub.
I cycle about 150 miles and run 20-30 miles a week and Ive skied for 25 years and my legs still hurt after a hard days skiing!
