In Bansko just now. Took a tube of factor 15 sunscreen yeasterday. Applied it many times but could still feel the sun burning my skin, and that despite me having some dark genes. It was really strong, today I could see some of the palefaces turning really pink/red up on the slopes. Other had taken off most of their clothes and were having their summer holidays.

You would think there was no snow left. Wrong. Perhaps my theory about defrosting the freezer was right after all (for newcommers my theory states that because you need a day to melt 5 cm of ice in your freezer in one day, then you need 20 days to melt one meter of snow). It is still awsome, clearly more than a meter left, no end to the snow, although getting really slushy and heavy to ski. You could even ski all the way to bansko today, although it is so wet that it is not enjoyable.
Today was warmer. Luckily there were clouds some of the time, so my skin surviived. And a friend gave me factor 40 (did not know it existed). When I was a child, we did ont have sunscreens, how did we survive then?
The weather forecast was rain for today. Don't believe forecasts. It did not rain, good I took that factor 40 with me.
