I'm a first time skier and I'm really worried. I'm going with 3 much more experienced skiers and I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up with them. I haven't booked any lessons yet as my mates say ther're rubbish and the woman ski instructors just flirt with the attractive guys.
My pals are also talking about skiing 'off piste', is this dangerous? I'm certain I'm going to brake a leg and end up in some run down bulgarian hospital.

How safe is it in Borovets? Will I have to stay with my friends and go down the steep slopes or is it possible to go on your own.
I don't want to sound like a wuss and I am looking forward to going I just dont want to look like a fool infront of my friends and I don't want to hurt myself
I'll say it very simply - GET LESSONS - GO TO SKI SCHOOL.
Your mates are talking absolute nonsense - the lessons are not rubbish, they are brilliant. Don't go Off Piste - you may find you are not insured.
When are you off to Borovets - we'll be there on 5th Feb - I'm coming with my friend Elaine - she'll be in beginners ski school and I'll be the next level up. If you are so worried about female ski instructors - make sure you go into a group with a male instructor.

YOUR MATES ARE TRYING TO KILL YOU IF THEY REALY THINK YOU CAN SKI WITHOUT ANY HELP.
GET LESSONS - if you get a flirty female instructor I'm sure you can manage to flirt back can't u?
Do not go off piste. A friend of mine died in Tigne a few years ago when she was off piste, and she was with an instructor (who was later sued by friend's family).
Dont worry about looking stupid, yr so called mates had to learn once.
Please make sure you get lessons. Some of the slopes in Borovets could be dangerous if you can't control your skis.
I learned to ski two years ago in Pamps. I was seperated from the group I went with, but in a few days I was able to join them in the advanced group. Start off on the right foot, and you'll soon be skiing with your friends.
There are more male instructors than female, so that probably won't be a problem either!
Can only add to what the others have said. Your friends are being typical lads. You will never be able to keep up with them and nor will they be able to teach you. Even if they tried they would loose interest after 5 mins cos they will be bord. Get lessons.
