Number 1 for snow record and amount slopes is without doubt Bansko. An explosion of building work has left the town looking a bit of a mess over thae past 2 seasons but if you are prepared to put up with this and want the best of Bulgarian skiing then this would be my recommendation.

Borovets is more for the party lovers who love to ski and party at the same time with lots of bars and quite active nightlife.

Pamporovo is great for families and groups with a good central bank of hotels ...

Pamporovo is great for families and groups with a good central bank of hotels surrounding all the nightlife.

Whichever you chose you will find people on here saying you made the right or wrong choice.

For me, Pamporovo ticks all the boxes - but I can quite understand why people prefer the others.

re: first timer

I suppose it will also depend on whether you want to try all 3 resorts or stick with Boro, as you know what to expect and know your way around.

It's very hard not to be biased as I've been going to Boro for a long time Exclamation Crying

There's all standards in our group that go and they all find challenges and fun out there. They know instructors well and are taken off piste etc but then we all meet up to 'social' ski. We find it easy to find one another and meet up.
