re: first timers

Pamporovo is described as the best for beginers.
Just returned and it was brilliant.
Spend time looking into the three main resorts.

Would go for Bansko, got back on the 30th & thought it was a wicked place, not so good for beginners though, although the girls in our group we're well pleased with their results at the ski school

re: first timers

Just got back from Bansko and would recommend it for young family.
I have been with my five year old who went to the kindergarten at the top Gondola lift and he really enjoyed it-especailly as they gave him chips everyday!.
There isn't much in Bansko however for kids-there is a bowling alley and plenty of swimming pools and Ice skating-but my son was usually knackered after his skiing.
As for the skiing -this was my wifes first time and she loved it. The instructor was a bit miserable ...

As for the skiing -this was my wifes first time and she loved it. The instructor was a bit miserable and a lot of the time they seemed to be going over the same things over and over again-but she went from being frightened on a slope as flat as a car park to tackling a blue on her last day! Also the slopes have been so busy over the last week-it slowed everything down-but I would imagine it is going to be quiet for the next few weeks.

re: first timers

went on first family skiing holiday to borovets last year, stayed at Rila hotel, just what we wanted. Nursery slopes and lifts outside front door, no bus to slopes. Kids could tobaggon and play in snow in evenings while we sat on a bar terace, had a drink and wached. Ski school was great, collected equipment from hotel. everything you want is in hotel or just outside. we're going back in Feb. Have fun.
