As were in a friends apartment and needs to buy our own food has the bulgarian supermarkets in bansko got edible food at all??? And are the restaurants nice any recomendations???

I tried a couple of typical restaurants (mehanas, i think that is how they are spelt)
both of which were just of the main square and both were superb. In one case we ordered a special (like a mixed grill) and it turned out to be more than any of us could eat (less than £5.00 per head inc wine). I don`t think you will have any problems at all...
As to the supermarkets, the locals look well fed so there must be good food somewhere but why bother, it is so cheap in the ...

Regarding your thread on money, as scooby said, change it out there and as to how much you might spend on a night out, £20.00 per head if you want to get up in the morning, more if you don`t want to....
I tell you what, if Steve C can spend £20 in Bansko on a night out, he has a drink problem
Last year a beer was 37p (1 lev) and a large Pizza £2.50 in the Mehanas.
Can't tell you what ski hire will cost you tho'
