Marc the hat, We only went to Sause on a last min deal as Bansko didn't have enough snow for us, we are getting into powder in a big way snowboarding so it only snow conditions that took us there, went out on 4th Jan, total cost from Gatwick £350 HB at a 3 star hotel right in town by Cotes lift, hotel was very basic to what we are used to, food was excellent and jolly staff; Hotel Sause. No lift queue at all during the whole week, empty slopes and so much powder, fab easy off piste, very pretty all in tree line, although over to Milky way was above. The lifts are at times basic 2 or 4 man but everything worked, no closure due to 3 full days snow, a lot of the Italians only come out in the sunshine, big choice of runs, we stayed around Sause being snowboarders more fun to play in trees. Mountain cafes were excellent and very cheap, coffee 1.5 euro everywhere or 1 euro in town, bottle water 1 euro on mountain glass or red wine 2 euro, big bowel of pasta and bread oil 6 euro on mountain, real melted hot chocolate 2 euro,at bottom of lift, ski back to town lunch could be had for 3.5 euro, small burger/ large pizza slice, can of coke & chips, I think pint was 4 euro but most pubs have happy hours and the younger folk followed the happy hours around town. Old town very compact and pretty. Email me if you need more info. We would go back and it really was cheap. Very Happy
