Hi,
I'm a first time skiier with no equipment and no clue about all things skiing. I'm coming from the Middle East on Jan. 23rd. Any suggestions about organising learn to ski packages, hotels and most importantly where I can get some ski clothes, goggles, gloves etc in Borovets?
Cheers
How much is dirt cheap...roughly? One of the people I am travelling with has not yet got any clothing and doesn't want to spend too much money on it. He was considering hiring some clothes in the UK but depending on how cheap they are in the resort I will recommend he waits and gets them there.
If you are in the UK and anywhere near an Aldi, they have their ski stuff in store at the moment, otherwise, look in shops like TK Maxx or Regatta for fairly cheap stuff.
Coming from the middle east, you are not likely to find ski wear available, but from the UK, it's available and if you shop in the right places, it's just as good a bargain as in Bulgaria - and you can take it back if there is anything wrong.
I got a new jacket in TK Maxx a few weeks ago - they took the security ...

I got a new jacket in TK Maxx a few weeks ago - they took the security tags off, but it still kept setting off the alarms in Boots and Tesco. I ended up taking it back over a month later without any problems as they couldn't find where a hidden tag was, but agreed there was one.
Aiden there was in tk maxx not long ago cant remember the name but something like rip curl or protest??? pants that were 16 quid all sizes, coulfo dropped through the floor, as a week before spent £100 on a pair of burton pants, but that is the prices of gear in these places, as judith says you dont have to spend loads to get the good stuff, it can also be cheaper than hiring,
This discussion board is ace...I have been looking at the webcam for months but only just found this yesterday.
Judith - Thanks for the sites, I will pass them on.
Noodles - I bet the Burton pants are the business tho! I have looked in TK Max in the past and found that sometimes it was really good and other times there was nothing. All in the luck of the draw i guess!
