It was free of charge last year and it wasn't worth that. The kids were crying 'cos it was the only night that they couldn't get chips or anything else that they liked from what on other nights was a very good buffet. They did lay on some entertainment, I managed to get the Bulgarians doing the entertainment to do the conga through the dining room which broke the ice a bit.
I would recommend the Chinese retaurant. They are so obliging I bet they would cook you turkey and stuffing if you asked them. I know that they would collect you from your hotel and drop you back as well.
Last year our New Year Gala was free. We had a great time. You have to expect that the food will be different in a different country, but there were about 6 courses so you are bound to like enough of it to be stuffed by the end! There was tons of wine laid on and champagne for the big 12 o'clock countdown (obviously not going to happen at xmas!). Everyone was really friendly and we enjoyed it. Maybe 45 pounds is a bit steep, but don't be put off too much. Go in with an open mind and you ...
