goggles - help

Last year our goggles steamed up
can you seasoned snow lovers recommend makes or things to look out for when buying goggles that will allow us to see and not leave me too much out of pocket
Have booked for Borovets this year and as the weather cools the tingle of excitment is beginning! Mr PP i can wait but only just!

re: goggles - help

If Budget can stretch a bit, but worth every penny try oakleys. my friend has spent faortune on fairly expensive goggles (£60!)in past only for them to fog despite coating them etc. Got a pair next day delivery from an Ebay shop based in Southend, they are the 'billy'. cost £90 but clarity of vision is far superior to any I have used before. Means I can still ski when others have to stop and wait for weather to clear up

re: goggles - help

Make sure that whatever you buy have double lenses. Very cheap goggles don't have this. This gives your goggles a double glazed effect and it's the gap between the two lenses that prevents the steamup.

Also put the goggles on and leave them on. When you stop (at the end of a run or at the side of the piste etc) try not to lift the goggles off (off your eyes onto the top of your head) as this allows water to get inside of the goggles and also changes the temperature causing condensation ...

If you wear a helmet make sure that the goggles you buy are suitable for the helmet you have. Badly fitting goggles with a helmet can leave a gap between the goggles and your face.
