yo norma;;y find people wear glasses when it's sunny but if the weather closes in and snows heavy goggles are better
I take both for this reason although this year I have bought a small pair of goggles that look like glasses!!! so trying them but will take old ones just in case

re: goggles or sunglasses?

Goggles if it's snowing or the wind is up but make sure you get anti mist double skin type, otherwise sunglasses are fine and look much cooler.
But if your a spectacle wearer and can't / dont use contact lenses then prescription sunglasses or reaction lenses as goggles which allow you to wear glasses under them are gross (in my opinion).

re: goggles or sunglasses?

Use sunglasses for sunny non-windy days and goggles for blizzards and very cold temperatures.

Hi

As stated above, sun glasses when its fine weather, googles when its snowing. So if you can take both. If your on a budget, just take sun glasses, as you probally already have some.
If you buy googles, you must get double lens ones. These wont mist up. Being first timers, ski school can be very stop start, which iswhen googles tend to mist up the most. With single lenses, youll find they mist up every time you stop or fall off, then you ski off again with obsured vision.
Also as ...

Also as above, so called "over the glasses" googles tend to be huge, youll feel like your skiiing in a scuba diving mask.
After saying all this, I ware sun glasses whatever the weather, cause I find googles to claustraphobic!

Enjoy your first time, youll love it!

I went 1st timer to France last year and took both. To be honest I found you got to warm with goggles they steamed up and were uncomfortable
