Interesting two weeks, (Borovets this is) the first week upto xmas day we had a reasonable selection of runs to play with, though in all the years ive been going ive never not been able to ski on the Markdjuk runs!! so that was a first, then Xmas eve Santa must be chucking out far too much CO2 as the temps went stupid, so the second week was a couple of days not skiing, so we took the kids ice skating and boarding and i was teaching them (PP you know how much that hurt!!!)then basically we were restricted to Yastrebets 2 and 3, well on the 27th early morning it was pure bliss loads of powder, and even our 5 yr old was loving it, but from late morning onwards the slopes got seriously busy as all the classes starting coming up, and bearing in mind both slopes are quite dificult reds, this led to bodies all over the place. The last few days the top of both runs have been very icy, wheres the 'youve been framed ' camers when you need it!! My daughter joined in race pracitce with the local race club, and i have some very bleepable footage of people deciding to 'have a go' on the slalom course that was set up, ok have a go if no ones around (actually dont cause youll probably get injured!) but not when theyre coming through the course at full pelt! anyway we had an enjoyable time and the trying conditions are fantastic practice, as they say if you can ski in Borovets youll ski anywhere!! to anyone going out, dont worry about the snow, cause the beers and vodkas are getting cheaper!! and shop around, numbers are down and the bars are getting desperate for custom!!!!
