Due to the work on the Dinevi complex there has been a landslide so I am told. When I was there in the summer I made my kids come away from the edge because you could see all the ground coming away at the side.

Heres What the Mayor says
The Mayor of Smolyan municipality Dora Yankova talked to Radio FOCUS – Smolyan.
Focus: Mrs. Yankova, the newly constructed tourist complex ‘Grand Monastery’ became the reason for part of the ski slope in Pamporovo resort to fall through. How will you comment it?
Dora Yankova: We have given the “Grand Monastery’ project a building permit. I want to explain that after the building permit is issued the independent construction supervision committee takes over until the project starts functioning. With regard to the problem we have I want to share with you that I will hold a few meetings this week. The first one will be with the company that exercises the independent supervision and with the director of the Regional Directorate for Construction Supervision - Smolyan so they could report on the execution of the project itself. My next meeting will be with the investors. What happened is unpleasant but we will impose the strictest measures. The independent supervision unit should start doing its work. Secondly, the investors should shoulder the responsibility to our municipality, to the people and to the tourism in Bulgaria. I think there is enough time before the beginning of the winter season – December 16th, and during this period we could use our full administrative potential so that the investors would be given the opportunity to prepare Pamporovo for a normal winter season.
Focus: How is the preparation for the winter season in Pamporovo going? Will the construction work be halted?
Dora Yankova: I had my personal fears about the preparation for the winter season therefore we have asked all companies twice to prepare their sites for work under winter conditions by December 1st and to make the resort accessible for tourists. I want to add that I have asked the Deputy Mayor Mrs. Yanchevska to see to it that my orders are executed correctly. We will check all the landslides that were activated by last year’s floods on the territory of the municipality so that we would know what the situation is. We will supervise strictly how the damage is dealt with and whether the company owner of the ‘Grand Monastery’ reinforces the slope bordering their property. I want to state explicitly that despite the fact that we encourage the business I must say I will take the side of the people who want to enjoy their stay in Pamporovo.
Focus: Will the slopes be ready by the beginning of the winter season?
Dora Yankova: I want to assure the tourists that the slopes will be ready and will be made safe by the beginning of the ski season. I also expect the company that manages the ski slopes at the moment – Pamporovo AD – to do its work well. It should inform the tourists what exactly it is doing to maintain the slopes which the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has given it to manage.
Good news i think but what of the perelik project?
