Totally agree. My lid saved me in Pamps last year.
I slipped whilst boarding on what felt like sheet ice and smashed the back of my head on landing. It really dazed me ven with the helmet so, make sure you wear one!!
Yep, I much prefer a helmet to a wooly hat any day, more comfort and the thought it might save your head. A novice snowboarder took me flying across an ice patch at Bansko last year, whacked my head but no harm done.
Was in Val Thorens last week.
Got tired/lazy, and my skis came together and stopped. I landed about 20-30m down the slope. I'm just getting over the concussion.
Changed my mind......
Just bought a Red Mutiny helmet and got the funky headphone earpads for them too so I can listen to my fave tunes while I slam down on my head... But safely!!!
Never skied with a lid (always wooly hats) but I got twin tippers so I thought it would be better to crash with a lid on than not!
