heading home from pamps after a fab week

If anyone is coming out today your gonna have a great weeks skiing. Big dump last night, they were digging the cars out this morning. All runs open. Next week is the ski instructors world championship so the wall and a couple of other runs will close. Its been pretty quiet on the runs, no queues bliss.

Hi Josh - the pistes are perfect. There was a massive dump on Friday night and yesterday the snow cover went all the way down to Sofia. The coach was struggling getting out of the resort. Ive never seen as much snow in Pamps. The runs were very quiet all week, some days we had them to ourselves. When you going.

I can second Karens thoughts.

3days skiing, mostly on good pistes, the odd icy patch. The new snow will make it perfect. skiing in hail and rain on Thursday was a weird experience though!

To answer an earlier Smolyian Lakes run question, I saw skiers heading that way and the chair lift working so assume it was open but no idea of quality of the piste.

One thing to mention (trivial for most I'm sure) but if you do the Stoikite run and keep taking the right hand options, the highest former piste is now off-piste. For someone trying to nurse a dodgy knee this was a shocker and led to a long walk down the slope to get back to safety!

Issues with 3 man lift on Friday that led to delays but all in all, things are good and yes, pretty quiet.

Daks is lively in the evening and Danmar is still good for food.

Have fun

re: heading home from pamps after a fab week

Thanks so much for your responses Karen and Ian. Much appreciated. It seems the last 2 or 3 years Pamps has definitely had the best snow cover of the Bulg resorts despite being the lowest. Good news for a Pamps fan Smile Ian, when you say about the off piste stoikite bit do you mean the bit towards the end where there was almost a little u turn before headed through some trees to get back on the piste?

I'm out on the 19th. Can't wait!

I do indeed Josh.

Too tricky for me in its current state sadly.
