re: helmets at borovets

My husband an I started wearing helmet on our 4th visit out to boro last year, we got a bit of light hearted banter from our instructor when he saw us with our helments for the 1st time.
The funny thing is though that when we went out in January this year quite a few of the instructors in the ski school we use were wearing helmet and when we asked them about it they said they didn't really know why they hadn't worn them in the past.

There are a couple of added advantages to wearing on, your head stays warmer/you don't need a hat and if you keep your goggles on your helmet they are less prone to steaming up when you put them on your face.
We wouldn't ski without ours now and it seems that more and more people are wearing them
Enjoy your holiday

re: helmets at borovets

I've heard some ski resorts now insist that you wear helmets all the time now, just wondered if this is the case in Borovets?

re: helmets at borovets

Hi Rob, Normally, helmet hire is a separate issue. In the UK, a charge of around £12-50 per week would be the norm.

We hired helmets 2 weeks ago in Boro and it costs aroun £22 each so if you can buy them here before you go.

re: helmets at borovets

If you have a decathlon sports near you then you can get them for £25 each.

We got these ones:
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/i-jet-146171543/
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/i-jet-146171037/

So I would say defiantly worth buying here first for that price.
