hello i'm going to borovets and just wondering if my two daughters would need to wear helmets.. one is 11 and the other will be 15 would both of them need helmets?
My view is that ALL children should wear helmets. In fact, I would recommend everyone to wear helmets as head injuries happen all to often on ski slopes and most of the time it's not your skiing ability but OTHER skiers/boarders being out of control and colliding with you (and your head!) that is the cause of most accidents.
I'm a fairly accomplished skier and I wear a helmet.
We returned from Pamps at the weekend... not many wore helmets... there was a nine yr old in our group and she wasn't required to wear one. The weather was icy so lots of people were losing control, saw the ambulance a few times.
I was wiped out by my partner once and his ski came very close to my head, fortunately missed!
Helmets are a good idea I agree with Hornster... all children should wear them... better to be safe than sorry! You never know who is going to lose control behind ...

to think i dont ride my push bike without a helmet, its something you don't think of, you always think about landing on the soft white fluffy stuff and not a ski landing on you
something worth thinking about
Hi , got back from Pamps a couple of weeks ago. I've always put the children in helmets, and this year bought two for us adults. Glad we did, very icy and rocky. My daughter bounced and got up fine. Looked at her helmet later, 2 inch gauge down the side. It would have been her temple. My wife fell down moving real slow but it was the back of head that hit the ground first , helmet saved her. Buy ones that are well ventilated as you do get hot in them. Have a great time!
