We are flying out on British airways as a family of 4, we have booked an extra bag for our skis, so we have 5 X 23kg allowance, does anyone know if we can have one bag at 26kg and the others at 22kg, main reason is we have a ski bag that carries 4 pairs of skies this weighs 26kg when packed.
will they still charge for the overweight bag?
Tried to phone on their 0844 number but was on hold for 10mins racking up a bill
Guessing we're on the same flight from Heathrow tomorrow morning.
The allowance is 23kg max. They do let you take a slightly heavier bag and tag it as overweight, but they can charge you for the extra weight if they choose. But 3 kilos is quite a lot over the allowance.
I think you may be charged excess baggage, but then again you may get a nice check-in lady!
Thanks for all the replies, I have removed the bindings from the skis and put them in our luggage with a screwdriver, I am now way under the weight, as a tight Yorkshireman there is no way I am paying more than I have to
