re: help pete

Hi Paul - great to see a new convert coming to Pamporovo and a Bluebird at that. Be sure to visit Peters Bar at the mid station as my City shirt is on the wall. Very Happy

All the hotels you mention are pretty reasonable but if it were me from that list I would choose the Finlandia purely for its location. Here is as link to the hotel.

Enjoy fellow Bluebird Wink

Hi Paul

Finlandia - Big hotel with pool and restaurant. Really nice rooms but maybe a little dated. Have stayed there 5 years ago when on our viewing trip. Its neither on the slopes or in the town so its a quiet location but you will need transport, taxis or ski bus to get around. Walking from her to town is a bit of a trek!

Castle - We have an apartment here so we may be a little biased. However here's the facts...Very nice and modern complex that is well looked after and maintained. Has two restaurants and a seperate bar, a small fitness suite with sauna and hot tub, ski locker and mini market on site. It is not in the centre of town but is on the lower green run laeding down to ski centre 1. If the snow is good it is ski in ski out :-) or a short walk up to mid station.

Hotel Rhodopi - Not 100% where this is but believe it to be in Cheperlare not Pamps. If so you will need a car or transport money.

Hotel Elina - we "think" this is situated just on the junct by the whitehouse and cheverma restaurants. Not to far from the bus station. It is also the closest hotel to town (10 min walk) and very close to ski depot 1 / lift to mid station. (if we are thinking of the right place)

Hope this helps a little - we will see you there if you are out over the xmas and new year holidays.

PSP & Claireabella :-)

re: help pete

Transfer by coach will be 4 hours (depending on road conditions) with a 30 minute stop on the way usually at McDonalds just outside Plovdiv.

Plenty of watering holes in Pamporovo - try the White Dog straight after skiing and the White Hart later on.

Cool

re: help pete

Sofia to Pamporovo transfer is approx 4 hours in a coach - a bit more if they stop for food. Private transfer approx 3.5 hours.
