anything will help do i need to wear a helmet how long does it take to get some air. i am really looking forward to it but dont want to break my neck on the first day
no dont take that advice, skis are for the old fogies, yes good gloves, a good pair of boarding pants, jacket, and layers count but if you are like me I get so hot its just a long sleeve top no helmet, you wont be going that fast so early, then if you progress well you could always get one, the hip flask is a must!!!! keep an open mind to it too, as some people expect to strap a board on and after a few lessons youll be flyin, it wont be that way, just take your time and your stuff will come ...

As silly as it sounds ask your instructor how to fall, and do what he says! Sounds daft but your natural reflexes can be painful
If it's your first time and your after some serious AIR a decent insurance policy might be useful Like noddles says don't expect to strap the board on and be flying on the first day, especially if it is icy !!!!!!
