hiring equipment there

Hi im on holiday in bulgaria on the 4th of january for my boyfriends birthday! This is the first time we have done any snowboarding or skiing at all. We have booked a very late deal and only know that we are going to bulgaria we do not know which resort yet. This has caused many problems. We cannot book our snowboard hire and lessons in england as we do not know where we are going yet! Will the prices of hire and lesson (the snowboard pack) double once out in bulgaria?

thanks for you ...

re: hiring equipment there

Hi Becky,
Unfortunatly you will pay about twice as much for your ski packs once in Bulgaria,
hopfully you will have saved more than the extra cost for booking a late deal.
sorry

re: hiring equipment there

is this true even if you book them a thomsons rep whilst on a thomsons holiday?

Becky

I would speak to Thomson again, their the ones imposing the conditions of not telling you which resort their sending you. So surely they can provisionally book ski packs in BOTH resorts then cancel one once they've decided where their sending you. This could be done locally via their reps and may result in paying for both initially but then getting a refund on your return.

Speak to them direct not through the travel agent.

Regards

Trevor

re: hiring equipment there

We have now been told after lots of telephoning that we are in pamporovo resort! Is 'borosport' in both resorts or just in borovets? many thanks for your comments as this is very useful as lunpoly had told us to book with the rep as they would find the cheapest deal. After what you have told me it just seems i am getting messed around by them. Thank goodness for this message site.
many thanks again becky
