hello all, can anyone recommend accommodation and ski hire for pamporovo for me and my family [2 adults 1 seventeen year old and one eleven year old] at the best reasonable prices for the coming new year.
Hi Craig
Try Pippa at Snow White Skiing. She posts on here regularly (and can be contacted through facebook). We have a similar family group, needing 3 separate rooms and she has very spacious, comfortable 3 room apartments at Panorama, which is at Stoykite.
Check out tripadvisor as well for reviews of the Panorama Apartments which give a good impression of the place.
You may struggle now though if you are trying to book for half-term.
Good luck!
I've been out many times and have stayed at the Finlandia once and the other times at Evridika Hills. I would personally recommend E Hills or The Castle complex (next door) as they are both sort of mid mountain and are ski in/out on piste 7, subject to conditions. They are also great places to stay and more modern (in a nice way) than some of the other hotels. In my opinion anyway. Hi Craig
As I mentioned they are half way up the mountain so it's a 10 minute walk down the piste into the town (or a very quick and cheap cab) where there are lots of choices for food and drink. I think some of the places are also open in the studenets ski centre during the evening which is just up the (albeit steep) hill. What I often do in the evenings however is eat at the castle bar. The food and drink is decent, it's a nice little place and very good value.
All 3 of the hotels I've mentioned can be booked through this site I believe but as always it's worth shopping around and considering some of the ideas the other guys have mentioned in previous posts.
I mentioned 'subject to conditions' earlier as you are going very early season which is sometimes hit and miss with the snow, as it is in the Alps - see the last 2 seasons in particular! However, the cannons and piste management in Pamps is genuinely excellent so, bar a freak heatwave, you will have a great time. Pamporovo is excellent for beginners and decent for intermediates, is in a beautiful part of the world plus it has the unique Bulgarian culture which is a nice change from Western Europe.
