hotel in bansko

Morning all. We are going out on the 29th to Bansko for 3 nights. Was hoping someone could recommend a hotel for the family and I?? Hoping for reasonably cheap but cheerful and quietish. Would love somewhere with hints of the old eastern europe (big, 70's kitsch!) but with modern facilities. Any advice appreciated. A pool for my little ones would be a huge plus.....
cheers

re: hotel in bansko

Hi neal...
Stayed in the Tanne in early December, can recommend especially if you like timber clad rooms that look like dolls houses. Was reasonable then (£40.00 for double room inc breakfast) might be differant now, check Bansko hotels, they have on-line booking or ring direct, the receptionists all spoke english, indoor pool,
good bar and restaurant and other facilities (i will be honest, i only got to the bar !!)

Give em a call

Cheers (just five days to go)

re: hotel in bansko

Hi Neal,

We stayed at the Pirin a couple of weeks ago and found it good on the whole but I can't comment on prices because it was part of a 7 night package. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a games room with a pool table and a table tennis room off the pool area. The pool is lovely and there is a solarium and steam room too plus a gym. The only thing not included in the price was a massage.

The food was OK but we found the evening meal a bit uninspiring so ate out 5 nights ...

I believe the Pirin is one of the oldest hotels in Bansko but refurbished a couple of years ago to modern standards. We would definitely go back there.

Sorry darlin, had to be done, will try to limit my postings re. webcams etc so as not to upset you poor individuals who have been, whose memories of the mountains are fading fast, who are counting days in hundreds till they visit the skiing oasis of Bansko again (i`m off again aren`t i, stop it, stop it)

steve c (not going skiing this weekend, not enjoying blue skies and crisp piste, not enjoying copious amounts of cheap alchohol and fine food) Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
