just got back,hotel looked nice but as soon as we arrived the problems began,they hadn't got enough rooms for whole party so some had to share for a night,some staff very unhelpful and offhand,the food was atrocious in hotel,couldn't identify some items and obviously just chucked together for the tourists,smoke coming out of light sockets in bathroom and management seemed unbothered,had some good meals in village at the white house and the pamporovo barbeque restaurant,village a bit boring and whole place felt a bit cut off,and of course,no snow,which i can't blame them for!!!!!!!!!!!!hotel bar very overpriced,particularly french brandy (£7.50 a shot) the local stuff is undrinkable,nice looking hotel but needs to try harder to please,wont be going back!! but holiday worth the money and scenery great,the day trip to plovdiv was rubbish too,guides very off hand again and city was crap,we had a laugh within our group though and they loved the skiing,although it was tricky through lack of snow.

Hello Danny Boy, i don't know you but it sounds like you had a nightmare holiday, we thought the service was first class. Our son had to share a room with two brothers for one night and by the morning he could speak perfect Kazakstani and he is also now the proud owner of a Trabant which was sold to him by the other lad in the room who had an amazing knowledge of all cars from around the world. "He must have a good boss" Smoke coming out of the bathroom light socket are you sure it was'nt steam from the shower, what with you being a DIY expert and all. As for the food i can't see the problem with Lasagne in the evening and Lasagne for breakfast the next day ! As for the local brandy being undrinkable ! My boy runs his new Trabant on it and he gets 90 miles to the pint. Brilliant. I thought Plovdiv had a better shopping centre than our local town , which by the way is a dump called Camberley, you've probably never heard of it. If you want to go skiing next year give me a ring and you can come with us and i'm sure we will have a good time and a few laughs. Cheers Chalky

chalky,sounds great,when we off,cant wait to get back into local delicacies such as squirrel and handbrake flan,roast bird in dog urine sauce and cornflakes the size of barnsley!!maybe we could try the presidential suite in the hotel where,apparently the smoke coming out of the ceiling has a joss stick aroma to relax you as you burn to death,and the balcony is attached with real "no more nails"!!!!thanx for the offer but i would prefer to beat myself to death with the severed limbs of the obnoctious receptionist in the pamporovo!!!
