We usually stay in Rila for the location - right at the bottom of the slope. Large hotel, ask for a front room overlooking the slopes when you book.
Clean, decent size rooms, good choice of food served buffet style. Not always to everyone's taste but usually can always find something. I prefer the breakfast.
Swimming pool free to guests, lounge bar good to meet up in but a bit pricey to drink in all evening.

There's a night club in the hotel, but haven't been there for a couple of years. Nightlife is varied - again depends on your choice, usually people partying to 2-3 am.
Theres a good pub across the road from the rila. It called francos, we were there last year and they had closed for the season ... however .... the barman kindly opened the bar for our group and tols us to drink what we liked ! haha (with the owners permission of course) we had a great laugh playing pass the ice-cube oh and dancing on the bar/behind the bar/on the stools/in the street !!!!
Check prices before ordering and pay as you go along. All restaurants have menus with prices.
Your ski depot should be in the Rila. Reps should be in the main lounge/bar every morning. Ask for a front facing room - great views above floor 2. Cleaners are very tolerant - deserve tipping at the end of the week.
Elaine, take my advice and DO NOT book a room overlooking the slopes, especially of you have children. It gets very noisy at night!! We moved rooms again this year and had a room overlooking the car park at the rear. As for the hotel, its clean, tidy and the food is very good.
