Samokov is very big and a bit dated. I wasnt completely happy with all aspects of the room that I had last week. Having said that, I have stayed in worse places and it is very well located for the town and the Gondola. Breakfasts are plentiful and there is a good choice of hot and cold options. Only had one evening meal in the hotel and eat out every other night. Hotels in Boro arent generally noted for their mass catering anyway so it wasnt a surprise. The ski school and ski depot is also very good although some of the equipment can be a little worn.

Ive been to the Samakov hotel 2 years running and looking forward to going again next january 24th. It is a great hotel location wise, being opposite the gondola lift and only a few minutes walk to the other chair lifts. Although the Samakov is a little dated it is still very clean and has everything you would ask for in a hotel you must remember it is a 3 star hotel not a 5 star! Everyone is friendly in the hotel, the service is brilliant and the food is decent enough, Bulgaria is so cheap it is easy enough for you to eat out every evening, as we do. The breaksfast has a wide variety hot and cold. All in all i believe this hotel is great.
