hi everyone, going out on 4 of feb any feedback on hotel samokov, grear discussion board have got most of info needed , hope hotel is good, first time skiing with my family of 4 all of us absolute beginners
Somokov is ok, Use it as a base and across the road from the main station your in good shape, I dont think it has a ski store so you will need to use Rilla Hotel but not sure.
Has a bowling alley small one but it does have one, also swiming pool and a bar but you will eat and drink in the restaurants as they are cheaper.
Samokov is a nice hotel, food is ok and rooms are basic but allright, you will have a great holliday, wish i could go again, i went last week of december for the second time in Samokov, have fun !!!
samakov has its own ski store/hire depot in the basement, depends upon who your booked with maby, but the hotels very good. You will enjoy the time there, go with an open mind and enjoy!
We were absolute beginers when we went last year. The Samokov is fantastic value for money. I tell everyone that it is not the best hotel I have stayed in but it is the best value for money.
Breakfast is good and evening meal OK - we ate in 3 nights and out the rest. Restaurants are cheap in Borovets.
samakov is huge and used to be the best hotel in the resort. Obviously a relic from the communist era being very grand in a tacky 60's way. It's about a 5 minute walk from the nursery slopes which is a bonus, There are 2 ski shops in the hotel. There is a marvelous selection of food in the hotel if you're half board but its nasty stuff. Eating out is a better bet but its still rubbish. The bars are good and the night club is open all night. Plenty of nightlife and other skishops ...

The resort is tiny so you wont have far to walk
Hi we will be joining you at the Samokov on the 4th Feb. Flying fron Manchester, myself, partner Gavin, welsh like you and my 2 kids Michael 13 and Rachel 11. We all skied for the 1st time last year in Pamporovo it was great. Borovets sounds even better. How old are your kids? Maz
never stayed but the overall impression of the hotel is miles better than the Rila. All the facilities are to hand, especially a great nightclub with 'happy hour' lasting all week.
Its very close to the Gondola and only a five minute walk to the Rila slopes. Just beware the icy walk in and out of the hotel
