re: how accurate is accuweather.com

Hope its not too accurate, as it shows 12c for 1 day and the 4 days of heavy snow is now down to 2!
This is for Chepelare.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to them Caroline - they are very seldom accurate.

As Pete said---basically these type of 'forecasts' are computer driven and will utilise data available at any time they are creating the forecast. What they do not have is any element of human input--which is (believe it or not) important.
The problem is weather models change everytime they run, and beyond 5/7 days the level of accuracy (in most weather situations) becomes unreliable, with forecasts potentially going from one extreme to the other

At the moment my forecast from earlier in the week still stands, with it looking to be dry (and milder-but don't panic) until mid next week when it should then turn colder with some snow (how much is hard to say), then drier /milder until the weekend then potentially more snow.

To prove my point above though--if I was writing this based only on the computer model from first thing this morning I would have been saying possible snow mid week then dry for the foreseeable future!!

re: how accurate is accuweather.com

yeah it will be mild on monday and tuesday but there is soo much snow it shouldn't matter, then hopefully the snow on weds should fix the slushy main green run which i expect will take a pounding at the bottom on tuesday.
its gonna be icy in the mornings Confused
