hi all i wanted to know how is the snow at bansko at the moment?

My contact told me that there is plenty of snow, but its turning to ICE. Snow is forecast next towards the end of the week. Same here in the UK!!!re: how is the snow bansko
Roi,Got back today from Bansko and the conditions are pretty good. Great skiing all areas BUT be careful on the no 1 blue back to the town. 1 or 2 very icey patches forming late in the day, same as any resort in Europe I suppose. All in all after my 1st time at the resort I would give it 9 out of 10. No problems with ques etc between the 23 & 30 Dec,
Anything else you need to know please feel free to ask.

Just got back from Bansko yesterday, the snow conditions were 100% better then this time last year. All bar one slope was open (No 12 Red i think! it is only a short one) The black - Tomba is kinda open but it looked very icy, so didn't even attempt it as off skiing again in 4 weeks and didn't want to risk breaking anything, although the piste bashers and snow machines were working on it quite a lot so i think it may be up to scratch in few days. The ski road down into the town was very icy ...

The ski road down into the town was very icy in places - a lot of begginers were attempting this as it is quite a gentle run but with the ice patches it can't have been any fun for them snowploughing over the ice.
There were some icy patches on the slopes but it all adds to the fun of trying to stay upright!!!!

still here and fantastic conditions. Very busy though for the new year. I met a couple today who said that they had to buy skis because all the hire shops were out of them. Mountain Romance booked out until 5th Febre: how is the snow bansko

Dave - that is madness! With all the hire places etc were there really no skis left to hire - never heard of that before! I would not have been impressed if that was me!! Maybe it was just a good excuse for the folk to buy skis.....???Kim xx
