Hi all,

I just started boarding 3 years ago at age 33, fractured coccyx first time and wanted to try skiing, which hubby promised. Once in resort he hired boarding stuff and said it was a waste of money hiring ski's aswell. So gave it another go with the most fabulous private instructor. Have never looked back, love it so much have just bought our own equipment for this season.I only tried the first time because my sister was working in Alp D'Huez and we went to visit her. The other thing I love is that ski resorts can't really compare with anywhere else they are such cute little towns, I just love wandering around them.
I am 44 and will have my 45th birthday while we are out there, this will only be my second year of boarding and for that matter snow sport, if you are going to Pamps go to The Snow Shack rather than the ski school, they are all skiers turned boarders (so they understand the slopes from all angles), they will fit you up with good equipment that is fitted to suit each person, the boots will be dry inside and won't rub, go for the ever so slightly more expensive personal tutor (it's about 5 lev ...

My wife came with us for the first time last year + was very apprehensive but with a good one-to-one instructor she was skiing down a green run on the first day + cant wait to get back in March!
Bribe her by booking her a pampering day in return for coming with you. Last year Arron booked us in at the Hotel Pamporovo for a valentines day treat it was fab.
hi james mrs avalanche hate skiing she been in schools had privates ... so i found it best not to push her onto the slopes..... she can day trip . shop . pamper . meet up with you for lunch etc.... hope it works out
just tell here maybe its time to seperate that will soon change her mind or tell her to stay at home why you go an have some fun life if to short to start arguing about silly bollocky things
Great to see the more mature boarder out on the slopes!! I was worried starting so late and wish had done so when younger. (Not ancient now, only 33, on my 4th season.)
James, great idea what Nicky said. A few pampering/massage sessions in your hotel or elsewhere would have me skipping the queue to get on the plane. ...surely a glimmer of a smile from your wife?????
It woz our first season last year cos my hubby really wanted to give skiing a whirl. I didn't want to so we booked a sunny hol in Egypt 6 weeks after we got back from Boro. We had the best time skiing and found the sunny hol round a pool quite boring in comparison. Just got back from Boro on Sat and yet again it woz awsome! needless to say we have booked skiing next year. i think you could safely say I'm converted!
