It looks ok, gives weather, snow depth and number of lifts open in Bansko, Boro, Pamps, Vitosha and Chepelare, but we'll need to see how well it performs during the season. It's free so worth a shot.
Anyone got any recommendations for any other apps? I have a few snow report ones and Ski Tracks for the gps, but any others?
Oh, avoid iTrailMap ... the Borovets data is at least 5 years old.
I was going to suggest Ski Tracks as I was skiing last season with some people who were using it. I was very impressed although somebody poured a bit of cold water on it by suggesting that it's not that accurate with regard to the speed readings although i'm pretty sure they were ok. Other than that It had some really interesting and potentially useful features like gradient and the Google Earth style screen so you can really see where you are or have been is quite fun
There's also one available for old Nokia's with GPS, the N95 etc ... they are a great if just to find your top speed although it's never as fast as it feels.
Last year I used Ski Tracks in Bansko on Shiligarnik pist and my speed average was 60 km/h. Good application for iPhone is Ski: Europe from Navionics also, but if you have Ski Tracks you don't need Ski:Europe because when you activate GPS you will get ski pists on Google Maps. Ski: Europe is good application for viewing ski pists in all Europe and planning ski in advance.
Well we recorded top speed of 80kph (50mph). Done on the last day using top of the range brand new fully serviced skis having gone straight down Yastrebets 3 (well the bottom bit). I'm inclined to believe it's accuracy in that example.
