Has any one stayed at the Iglika Palace hotel? We've booked for 2nd Jan 2005, three adults and one child staying in a family room, does any one know how big the rooms are, and is there a bath and a kettle in the family room. We stayed at Yagoda Village this year, had a fantastic holiday can't wait to go back.re: iglika palace hotel

just a quick report on the iglika. we have just come back from a great holiday. to be honest the room was adequete, they're not huge rooms, and are fairly basic. we had a balcony over looking the back (pine trees!!) two large single beds which we pushed together and our son was in an austrian bed (a bed chair...metal action that was left permanently open).i believe you can get small normal beds too. the room had reasonable storage space and was very warm. the bath was lovely and ...

just a quick report on the iglika. we have just come back from a great holiday. to be honest the room was adequete, they're not huge rooms, and are fairly basic. we had a balcony over looking the back (pine trees!!) two large single beds which we pushed together and our son was in an austrian bed (a bed chair...metal action that was left permanently open).i believe you can get small normal beds too. the room had reasonable storage space and was very warm. the bath was lovely and deep and included an overhead shower, water always hot. there is a hairdryer of sorts in the bathroom........ no kettle. we took our own portable and there is a plug socket right by the dressing table.
The food is ok to mediocre, to be honest we ate there for breakfast and only had two evening meals there. it's mainly because there isn't alot of choice. typical examlple..chips, some kind of stew!??, rice, chicken portions, cauliflower and then a choice of salad. the dessert wasn't much better, little cakes........very mediterrainian, or fruit. Beakfast was nicer although slightly aimed for the German custom i thought... bratwerst sausage, chopped bacon, fried, scrambled and boiled eggs, toast, fruit or salad? and a choice of three cereals....including nesquick choco pops!!! take your own tea bags!!!!!!!!!!!!! the coffee was ok but the tea bags run out quickly and you're left with fruit or herbal tea!! the restuarant is quite nicely laid out and wasn't too busy when we were there, the waitresses wear very short skirts!!!
the bar is quite small and to be honest i dont know about anything else on offer at the hotel as we were out skiing most of the time; so didn't experience the sauna or gym that i think was there.
just one thing... we had some rather noisy neighbours coming back at 3 in the morning and the walls are quite thin. we had to complain and the receptionist wasn't all that helpful, but i was determined and she suddenly understood!!
we were also stung for our mini bar bill as well, the price is higher than in the bar, you dont get much, one spirit, two bottles of water two soft drinks and a bar of chocolate! which they replenish each day (what you use) and the bill comes on departure.
we used to nip over the low fence and take a short cut through the Rila each day to get our skis and to go to the slopes. nobody seemed to mind and loads of people were doing it. saved our legs a bit. it is reasonably well situated behind the Rila and away from the loud clubs, just be careful of the steps down to the front door, we found them icy.

Stayed at the Iglika at the end of feb. We had friends who stayed at other hotels within the resort - it looks like we did quite well. Rooms are clean, very warm but perhaps basic for a 3* hotel. Food is quite simply awful.
The hotel is situated behind the Rila (the largest hotel) and fortunately it was very quiet. Try and get a room that isn't on the ground floor, near the lift or stairwell - otherwise it can get a bit noisy.
