i have heard some bad reports about borovets im going in 1 week and imjust getting the reports of shabbyness not nice food and poor snow and
lifts ect and i was just wondering
weather anyone could shed any light on the matter thanks

Oli go with an open mind and i am sure you find borovets is a place of much fun with decent locals and small and compact village. you just need a good fall of snow this week to give a great ski resort where people return year after year.re: is borovets nice?
when you first arrive I expect you will be dissappointed, but I would bet by the end of your holiday you will be rushing back to the travel agents to book again. It's true the food can be different to what you are use to, but I'm sure you will find some resteraunts you'll like. I only visited one that wasn't my taste and wouldn't go back to. when there is snow in the resort streets it is picture post card .. if not it can look a bit scruffy... most eateries are clean and serve good food .. get off the main .rila/samakov drag to find best food and prices ... hope you have a good time ....... i have been going for nearly 15 years

Hi, very true what mad mark says, you do have to go with an open mind. I've lived in Bulgaria for 6 months now and love it but when i first arrived i thought it was ugly and all the people were miserable but this is not the case at all. I was in Borovets for a lot of last season and loved it. The skiing is great, even if there isn't a lot of snow in Borovets there is still a lot of great skiing at the top of the gondola. I run a British restaurant but a lot of the Bulgarian food is very ...
Hi, very true what mad mark says, you do have to go with an open mind. I've lived in Bulgaria for 6 months now and love it but when i first arrived i thought it was ugly and all the people were miserable but this is not the case at all. I was in Borovets for a lot of last season and loved it. The skiing is great, even if there isn't a lot of snow in Borovets there is still a lot of great skiing at the top of the gondola. I run a British restaurant but a lot of the Bulgarian food is very good, just different! I'm sure you'll have a great week... just give it a chance!

Hi again, well i was out boarding yesterday over in Malovitsa and there was good powder. I know a few people have been out in Borovets already, they opened some of the chair lifts early so it's looking good. They got the snow cannons up and running on the reds down from the gondola. The restaurant isn't in Borovets itself, we're in a village called Beli Iskar but are planning a shuttle service if people want to come and give us a try!
