just back from Pamps

Just back from a week in Pamps. Had a great time. There are some pros and cons. The good -
Instructors were good.
Waiting times on lifts were fine.
Only two bars of any note worth going to: Daks and BJs. Staff are friendly in both.

The bad -
Food was crap. Not just in hotel we stayed in (Elina) but in other restaurants also. Service in these was poor too. In one restaurant in the Perelik I got served the main course an hour before I recieved the starter.
Taxi drivers are nuts. ...

Bell sellers on the slopes are a nuisance.

The pistes were okay. This week I wouldn't imagine they wouldn't be in great shape. On Saturday it was warm and the slopes were very icy. Some parts were slush and in others clay was becoming visible on some parts of Blue and Green slopes. It was fine up til then.

Saying the food was rubbish is a bit of a generalisation don't you think?!

There are lots of different places to eat with differing styles of cuisine from around the world. You also get what you pay for too. The Perelik isn't exactly the most up-market of places now is it? Very Happy

The taxi drivers may be nuts but were you ever in one when it lost control or even came close to hitting anything? I highly doubt it. Plus, if you didn't like it you could have got the bus or even walked. Taxis ...

Bell sellers are only a nuisance if you're the kind of person that sees them as a nuisance. They're actually very friendly people trying to earn a living. They were extremely humerous every day despite the fact that I never bought a bell all week. They even offered me "buy one, get one free" as a joke.

It's a shame you spent your time looking for negatives instead of just enjoying your holiday whilst you were out there. Confused

re: just back from Pamps

We stayed at Hotel Pamps last year. It has to be said the food was not the best! but had a great time anyway.

Just a point regarding taxis. On the first day we saw two seperate accidents each involving taxi's crashing into other cars!

Frank i was in Pamps last year had a good time and no trouble. Yes the bell sellers are a pain and when i didnt buy was given a hard time, yes they are making a living, Jonty, but im also on holiday.

Maybe Jonty you should not take such a high stance on this, if the guy had a bvad tiem, maybe he had a bad time and was unlucky.

When i went we had a great time.

LOL - What high stance is that then? Neutral

I'm merely giving my opinion........it doesn't have to be agreed with.
