Hi, me and my girlfriend just returned from Bansko and we had a great time. We were slightly concerned on arrival of the town as there wasnt any snow, but as soon as you arrive at the gondola there it is!! At the top of the mountain conditions couldnt have been better there was sooo much fresh powder. I would recommend getting a hotel with breakfast and dinner included as it's not as cheap as you might think it definately pays to look around. Your best bet is to go of the beaten track and not on the main strip and dont believe the ushers outside they offer you free drinks but you end up paying for them and if you dispute the bill they get a bit agro and then they have the cheek to ask for a tip ha. I would recommend El Toridos though the food was amazing and so was the service and the portions are huge, and is still nice and cheap it worked out 50 lev for a starter big main and a bottle of wine for both of us! The majority of the people were nice enough but some were arrogant but im sure you get that anywhere oh and when your waiting for the ski lifts leave your manners at home as people try and push thier way past unless thier English of course!! But that happens at all ski and snowboard resorts. Hope this will help.
Also just got back - great week, things improved as week went on. A great pity about queues for gondola - two and sometimes three into one never goes. To be honest many people said they would never go back - a shame as skiing was great when you got there.
