Arrived back after the best week ever in Borevets-the snow was fantastic.Stayed at the Alpin and found the ski equipment was great especially as we just skied straight out of the store onto the slopes with access to 2 chair lifts. The staff were great-very efficient and great customer care skills. We found by sking the Rila side until 11.00 avoided the queues at the Gondola-(the little track under the Gondola avoids sking or worse still walking down the road). We visited the White house at the top and met the famous Bobby although I realised he had taught my friend many years ago (the only ski instructor to get her down Yastrabets)! Also the charming young Bobby who I am sure has the girls fighting over him. The other highlight was to be taken to George's shack (on the ski way)-the gluwein was divine and well worth the detour every day.We had the privilege of eating proper zelnik and baclava made in the village-not good for the Rosemary Connly diet- but delicious! The little super market at the Rila hotel sells excellent banitsa for 1 leva each-bargain for your lunch! My grand daughter has brought some back to share out at school- maybe we will gain a few more Bulgarian fans. Thanks to this website I can have my little daily 'fix' of Bulgaria every day until my next visit.
