I'm looking at skiing in late march in Bansko or Pas in Andora. Bulgaria looks much more interesting but snow wise would I be safer in Andora or should I look at higher Alpine resorts.
Bansko every time for me. Have skied in Pas and would not return. Too much walking uphill to get to the lifts in my opinion and top of the mountain was often closed off with low cloud and murky conditions.
I've skiied both Bulgaria and Andorra late in the season during 2004 and 2005.
I found the runs better in Andorra when the temperature was getting a bit warm, though I much prefer Bulgaria as an all round package. Borovets was slushing up a lot when I left on 19 March this year, but was good earlier that week. At the end of the season I think it has a lot to do with luck - one place can be good when another is bad, etc.
