the drag lifts on the beginner slopes get packed especially early afternoon, and there was sometimes a queue when the gondola first opened (but not very long, and you do get to go to the top)
If you want some peaceful practice with the lifts to yourself, go out at 8 when the hire places open. They switched on the drag lifts just for me and I had them all to myself until 10am when my lesson started.
Also the weekends are much busier than the week as Bulgarians are there, so don't be alarmed ...

As a rule Bulgarians don't really get the concept of queing. Don't be suprised if people push in..... you'll be doing it as well by the end of the week!!
By Tuesday this week (half Term) the queues for the gondola first thing will be huge. It is really difficult if you end up with an instructor that insisits you queue jump - you are so worried that you will lose him or your group that you join in - and not without feeling very embarrassed!
Our instructor our first year Krassi was terrible and made us pretend we wre getting something from the ski shop and hop off one by one - very red faces most days!!
At least ...
Depends when you go!!

At least this year there are the new 4 man chair lifts which should hopefully alleviate some of last years problems.
Me and my girlfriend are off to borovets next month, can you recommend a good place to rent equipment and any other advice would be great as it's our first time. Cheers Gary
