Wow! looks like snow already! Bit different from last year!
We went to Bansko last year and are going again in March. But the snow looks so good this year we couldn't resist snapping up a last minute deal for France before Xmas. Anyone know if it's best to buy lift passes for French resorts in advance? Or do you just wait till you get there and buy them on the spot? (Not a Bulgaria question, I know, but this board was so friendly last year it seems like home from home!)
In the larger resorts you can pre-book (on-line in some cases) but any discounts are normally for multible bookings or periods over two weeks. As Nick says, buy in resort. One little thought, check day rate, in some resorts they charge 1/7th of the weekly charge per day, this can be more economic if you are intending not to ski every day.....
All this may apply to every French resort, on the other hand it may not, do some digging Lee
most places similar prices in the resort or before -on line.
few resorts run special for lift passes offers when you book your stay direct with them and it works cheaper.
check for : ''Prix per personne pour 7 nuits et 6 jours de remontees mechanique'' usually the saving is 10% .good luck
I've done some digging... and found the price seems to vary considerably: The resort will sell direct online at one price, my agent will sell at about £100 more, and another agent will sell to their own customers at about £100 less than the resort.
This is for a family pass for 6 days, so I guess that exagerates the differences... but that's valuable beer money going astray!
