we are staying in the malina villas over xmas has anyone stayed there before? would love to hear about it.maria

It means raspberry. A little way out of the resort so a short taxi ride is needed but very close to the 3 man lift.

Very cosy - never stayed there but a pal has and loved it.As arron says - you are about 2 kms from the main nightlife but taxis run all the time and you can ski almost from your door to the lifts and take a shortcut home to ski to your door too.

Stayed there last 2 years and booked again for Feb 2008.Basic, but everything you need.
If you have children (as we do) there is plenty of room for them to play safely in the grounds around the villas and an added bonus is that its a 2 minute walk to the ski lifts (no buses).

HiI'm taking my teenagers over New Year and posted a question re accommodation. I was told the villas were basic but warm with hot water. Taxis into town supposed to be cheap so I'm hopeful about it!

Julie, they are exactly that.They also run a "taxi" service into town using their own Landrover, think its about 10levs but i cant remember if thats each way or not!

Thanks for the info Simon. I stayed previously at the Olymp so I'm familiar to the town but I presume there is a hotel nearby to the Malina Villas - do you know much about it? Always take my own Tetley tea-bags anyway - how sad!!re: malina villas?
Nearest hotel is the Markony by the ski lifts, but the Malina Residence is next door which has the Irish Bar downstairs.Also there is a restaurant opposite and the restaurant/bar on site is OK.
