can anyone tell me if national holiday brings extra locals to the slopes.booked 1st week of march to borovets hoping for a quiet week.will i be disappointed
Very disappointed, I'm afraid. We were there for the national holiday last season, slopes were very busy. Word of warning, get cash from the ATM beforehand, we struggled and had to wait until the day after the hols before we could get any, relied on charging drinks to our hotel room for one night, as none of the machines had any cash in them!
but dont get cash from gondola station cashpoint, i knew someone last year who had the joy of receiving croatian money out of it and the bank and the police wasnt interested
yes Karen - you will probably be disappoited - lots fo people usually that day.
The story with the croatian money from the bulgarian ATM sounds too suspicious to me
is it only busy one or two days or will it effect all week (first tme i,ve been able to avoid xmas and half term week)hope I,ve not booked the only other busy week all season
was in pamporovo begging of march this year and it was very busy for a couple of days the weekend and monday, but after that it was back quiet again. The ques for the lifts took an hour to get on the main ones. But dont let this spoil your holiday, we still loved it.
It was busy just the days of the actual holiday, very noticeable the day after, much quieter. You can also get locals skiing at weekend, but as our flight landed late on Saturday and first ski day was Sunday, tended not to notice this much.
