due to unforseen technical difficulties (i.e. my mate breaking his wrist during the x-mas "festivities") I'm on my own in Borovets next week (aaahh I hear you say).judging from this discussion board it doesn't seem like the place is gonna be full of pretentious idiots looking down there noses at plebs like me.
is Boro a fairly easy place to get to meet people (i'll be in ski school too which I guess will help) and if so where's a good bet?

You won't have any problems Neil, my bloke and I went to Borovets in early Jan and we were in different school classes. We met loads of people between us and were out most nights. Although we were together, we spent most of the night talking to different people. We headed to Franco's pizza and the Karaoke bar most nights but everywhere is pretty good (avoid the Rila nightclub - it is usually pretty quiet tho!!)re: meeting people
Fortunately pretentious idiots do indeed seem to avoid Bulgaria. I'm sure you'll have no problems at all. Visitors all seemed to be up for a good time and to get along and the friendliness of the locals has to be experienced. Ski School will be great help.re: meeting people
You'll be fine. Get yourself into ski school on the Sunday morning and you will meet some cracking people I'm sure. Everyone tends to be really friendsly so even if teh people at Ski school aren't your cup of tea get yourself in a bar and strat ordering the beers!! The buzz bar at night is great fun as well and very cheap. The fact that you are still going on your own means you'll surely have no probs meeting decent people!!!Have a wicked time!!
