Going in 2 weeks - due to poor exchange rate with Euro from GBP is it better to take US dollar/Euro.

I found the best rate was by using the ATMs depending on the charge to your card.
If not GBP are just as good exchange rate was 2.50 to pound in borovets last week.

taking USD would make no difference at all - that has fallen badly against the Lev as well.

The Lev is more or less pegged now to the Euro at around 1.95 therefore as the Euro continues to be more and more overvalued the Lev will go with it

Only real hope is a Euro collapse!

Like it has been pointed out so many times, Get a Nationwide Flexi Card, No charges for withdrawing cash and a better rate. You just top up your card before you go. F.V.

The Euro maybe pegged to the lev but you will not get that rate,in Samokov town its 1.945 and even less in the resort.
