hi everyone...going out boro saturday. Need some good advice ... is it best to take stirling or travllers cheques.where can you get the best rate, and is their a cash machine on hand..and do they except cards every where?1st time ib bulgaria stoping at Rila.
I would change some money here and take stirling. Best rates are at Marks and spencer Comm free, or I buy mine from travelex.co.uk.(2.83lev-£). These have the best rates in the uk. With travelex you pick your cash up at your particular airport. You get a much better rate than all of the leading travel agents and banks in the uk.
If you take stirling you will get a slightly higher rate in resort but your only talking pennies, so it all depends whether you wana keep having to change ...

The Rila has a cash machine and also bureau so its not too much as an inconvenience. Although Trav cheques are the safer bet you end up loosing out as they charge for each time you change a cheque.
The safes are secure at the hotel. The same as any where in the world.
Thanks for yourhelp.Would you know how much it would be for private lessons. I have booked a package but have been reading some pass posts that no all ski instructors with groups were that good.
Like all the ski instructors some are good some ar bad. We had a great one last year. To be honest as long as you know the basics and you are confident its best just to go on your own after a few days.
Not sure on the exact cost of private lessons but I know they are not expensive.
We've got the package again this year but are just gona go on our own. There is a bar called White Magic. The owner Christo is a former Olympic skier. He does private lessons. Go and see him he will ...

Back from Boro on Saturday. None of the cash machines were working. The one in the hotel Flora was at the start of the week but wasn't when we left. It was a real problem getting money, the bank in the Rila only gave out money when they felt like it. My son was charged 24 lev commission for withdrawing 100 Lev at one of the exchange kiosks in the street, so just check how much commission before you hand your card over.
